$1.5 Million Awarded for 18-Wheeler Accident

Ronny Martinez, 37, and Kenneth O’Neil, 50, have been awarded $1.5 million compensation by an Ellis county jury.  The trial was heard in the 40th Judicial District Court in Waxahachie, TX.

Compensation was awarded for injuries sustained in an 18-wheeler crash in 2006.  The two men had filed a personal injury lawsuit against Indianapolis, IN based Celadon Trucking Service.

The accident occurred when they were driving North bound on interstate 35E in Waxahachie on July 2, 2006.  A North bound 18-wheeler jumped out of its lane and hit the car Martinez and O’Neil were driving in.  The 18-wheeler was driven by Michael Wade.

Martinez suffered a fractured vertebra and O’Neil had serious injuries on his right knee, mild traumatic brain injury, and damage to his collar bone.
