Did you know that North Carolina lost 241,900 manufacturing jobs between 2000 and 2008 and more than 94,000 of those jobs were lost because of the U.S. trade deficit with China? Or that you can sign up to participate in the “Keep It Made in America” tour, which kicks off Oct. 12?
The Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) has re-designed its website and blog to make it easy to find such information and more. Re-launched last week, AAM’s site provides more tools and features to better reflect the challenges facing our nation’s manufacturers and their workers.
New and exciting features include AAM’s interactive map that allows you to locate U.S. manufacturing employment in your state and see how many millions of jobs have been lost due to the U.S. trade deficit with China. The site provides the latest data, down to your congressional district and industrial sector.
You can register to join in the ?Keep It Made in America? tour, which will feature town hall meetings in 12 cities in 10 states. The meetings will give voters the chance to hear directly from candidates and elected officials on where they stand on such key issues as unbalanced trade with China and rebuilding U.S. manufacturing for the global economy.
The expanded blog offers new graphics with plenty of room for feedback and comments from readers and an enhanced ability to share on social networks.
AAM has loaded some of the most cutting-edge research reports on U.S.-China trade and manufacturing to its site. For example, you can find reports like ?Obama’s Bold Economic Move on Chinese Tire Imports is Paying Off? and ?Manufacturing a Better Future for America.?
So check out the improved AAM website and blog. You?re sure to pick up some tools and knowledge to show how much we need to revive our nation?s manufacturing.
