: Salmonella BlogMustang Oklahoma Elementary Salmonella Scare Hits 14
By Marler Clark LLP
A salmonella scare at a Mustang elementary school is growing more concern this week. The Oklahoma State Health Department reports the number of students suffering form salmonella poisoning has grown from 10 to 14 cases. The first case was reported on Sept. 2.
Health officials are still trying to determine the source of the salmonella outbreak by interviewing students and parents at the Mustang school. Two adults cases have been identified in Oklahoma County as well as another case in Carter County. Investigators don't know if those cases are connected to the Mustang outbreak.
Earlier reports that these cases were linked to Salmonella cases in Iowa and Nebraska appear to be incorrect.
