Lawyer sues former firm over male empowerment retreat

By Richard Binder

ADVERTISEMENTS

Attorney Steven C. Eggleston is suing Newport beach firm Bisnar/Chase, claiming that they stopped paying him after he refused to attend a personal development retreat.

Eggleston alleges in the suit, filed in August, that he did a Google search on the "New Warrior Training" seminar organized by The Mankind Project and discovered it entailed activities in which men revealed personal details about their sex lives. He expressed his concerns to the firm and declined to attend, and that's when the firm stopped paying him, according to the lawsuit.

Brian Chase, name partner at the firm, says attendance was purely voluntary and called the suit "frivolous."
