: Chicago Personal Injury LawyerDouble Baby Crib Recall
By Jamie G. Goldstein
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued recalls for both Simplicity and Graco brand cribs due to faulty hardware.
Simplicity
All Simplicity cribs with full-size frames have been recalled due to a faulty frame that could potentially bend, creating a space where the infant could get caught. In a tragic incident, a one-year-old in Massachusetts suffocated after becoming trapped in th. The cribs were sold at chain retailers like Walmart, Target, and Babies R Us. The manufacturer is now out of business but the UCPSC implores that no one should use or resell these cribs. An agency spokesman was quoted as saying, "these recalled cribs have killed far too many babies and need to be kept out of homes and daycare centers."
Graco
About 200,000 Graco brand cribs manufactured by LaJobi have also been recalled due to a faulty drop-side after nearly a hundred complaints of babies getting trapped. Thankfully there were no major injuries. A free retrofitting kit to repair the defect can be obtained by calling (888) 842-2215.
