Law School Dean Searches, 2009-10 Edition

By Dan Filler

ADVERTISEMENTS

I'm going to get started a bit earlier this year in creating a list of law schools currently doing a dean search.   In light of this week's announcement out of the University of Chicago, it appears that one position has just closed and another opened.  Such is the merry-go-round!  I've listed the schools I know are, or believe will be, searching for a dean this year.  As always, feel free to share additional information directly with me.   I'll add finalists as they surface.  For now, I've included the name of current and/or interim dean, as (easily) available, as well as links to search committee information.

Capital (Dean Jack Guttenberg stepping down June 2010)

Case Western Reserve (R0bert Rawson, a Jones Day partner, interim dean) (search committee here)

Charlotte

Denver (Professor Martin Katz interim dean) (search committee here)

Hastings (Professor Leo Martinez, interim dean)

Iowa  (Dean Carolyn Jones stepping down Summer 2010)

Nebraska (Professor Anna Shavers, interim dean)

U. of North Texas (seeking inaugural dean)

Oklahoma (Dean Andrew Coats stepping down Summer 2010)

Seattle (Professor Annette Clark, interim dean) (search committee here)

Texas Tech (search committee here)

Tulane (Professor Stephen Griffin, interim dean) (search committee here)

UCLA (Dean Michael Schill stepping down December 2009)
