New dean at Loyola

Victor J. Gold, a national expert on evidence law, has been named the new dean of Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. Gold, who has been serving as interim dean of the law school this year, served as associate dean of academic affairs from 2000 to 2005. He began teaching as a professor at Loyola in 1984.

Gold succeeds David Burcham, who became executive vice president and provost of Loyola Marymount University in January. Burcham, who had been dean for eight years, remains a professor at the law school.
