: California Condo & HOA LawTootin' My Own Horn - About Condo and HOA Law Resources
I do not like to toot my own horn ... it goes against the grain of a midwestern born and bred like me. And I hate spamming and spammers!
If you want to get to know me better, I just recently broke into the world of Twitter and Facebook, mainly because I am doing a case study on my own practice and resource offerings using these social networking tools - so I can talk about it with experience behind me at the CAI law conference next January (I am on the agenda!). I mean, who better to talk about something than someone with the "voice" of experience.
So, if you want to "become my friend" on Facebook (am still working on the business page on Facebook which was put off because I got too enthralled with sending and receiving pics from family and other "friends" so be patient) you can send me an email asking. I do not want to "spam" my own address book with requests.
If you want to follow me on Twitter just send out a "tweet" to @BethAGrimm or even better @Califcondoguru. Ask your questions, just like here, and I will see what I can do!! [Maybe not this am 8-6-2009 because I hear Twitter is down.]
And - about that "toot" - here are some comments I have received recently (and these, my friends, make it all worthwhile). You don't have to read them, but I feel like sharing some goodness today!
"Dear Ms. Grimm,
"I find your the information that you provide and your helpful website incredibly AWESOME !!!!
Thank you so much for helping us homeowners with questions that would cost and arm and a leg to get, otherwise."

Did I tell you thank you? You are a GEM! Why didn't I find out about you and all your wonderful information years ago?
I will gladly pay a subscription price just for the service you provide. Do you have any idea how much you are needed and appreciated in this economy in California?
OK -- I'll calm down now . . . I will be an avid reader, and if there is anything I can do as a homeowner of a condo in a HOA that only covers the measly 13 units we have - just ask.
I really appreciated what you are doing - and you obviously are doing it very well, and I just thought someone should tell you that YES - someone is paying attention -- and it matters that you are willing to share your expertise.
Thank you again, BL, Chico
PS. did I thank you already? just in case . . . thank you very much!?

?I am most appreciative for your blog. I recently discovered it and can't put it down (or turn it off)! It's a must read for: (a) board members and owners, especially those under the misguided impression that there are consistent absolute answers under the law; (b) those concerned about liability issues and protecting their investment; and, (c) interpersonal advice on HOA board/owner relations. I particular like your suggested "member in good standing" prerequisite for board participation.
I appreciate your clear and concise manner of writing that enables those, like myself, without legal background to become better informed and more realistic in their HOA participation expectations.
After I've digested all your blog (& some link) morsels. I'll be ordering at least one of your plain English publications.
Thanks for an ongoing job well done!?
JW

Now my face is red. If you got all the way here, kudos to you. And maybe you think I am crowing a bit too much. There is a critic now and then that feels I did not give enough! But the truth is ... I do not think many lawyers get letters like this everyday, and I could have incuded a hundred more. I wanted to share that people are kind and appreciative, and willing to express it, and I am proud to be a valuable resource in an industry that is daunting to many!
