The Missouri Supreme Court on Tuesday reinstated a lawsuit over an alleged fuel-system defect in Ford police cruisers. In granting a new trial, the high court found that a judge wrongly prevented attorneys for the plaintiffs from introducing evidence of previous gasoline tank explosions in Ford vehicles. The trial judge later admitted that he had made an error but maintained that the ruling did not affect the outcome of the case.
