Anon Lawyer

ADVERTISEMENTS

Three days, three new posts.  I'm hoping that by posting about the posts, I put pressure on myself to continue the streak.  So spread the word, Anonymous Lawyer is back and laying people off like it's 1929.  Or 2009, I guess.

.....I haven't done enough thinking yet about whether blogging -- and what makes for a "successful" blog --- has changed with the growth of RSS readers.  It used to be that my biggest advice for new bloggers who e-mailed me to ask was that they really need to post consistently, every day if they can, because if people visit and don't see something new, they're going to forget about you and stop coming back, and you need to get people into a routine where they visit regularly or you're never going to build an audience.  But now that more and more people are using RSS readers and not necessarily checking in at all to see what's new, does it matter?  If someone posts once a week but the blog's on your feed already, does it matter?  So is the key getting people to sign up for your feed, and wowing them with a couple of great posts that sell them on the blog as opposed to worrying so much about daily content?  I don't know.  I expect RSS readers really have changed the requirements.  But I'd welcome any thoughts on that.....

In unrelated news, in the spirit of trying to use my blog as my very own Stubhub, I bought 2 tickets to the Tribeca Film Festival's showing of the movie "Team Qatar" on Monday April 27th at 7:15PM.  I really want to see the film -- it's a documentary about Qatar's first national high school debate team, click the link for more details -- but I forgot I have somewhere else I have to be at 7.  So, on the off chance anyone reading this thinks that sounds cool and wants my tickets, e-mail me and I'll knock a couple bucks off the price I paid.
