Princeton, Dartmouth, And Brown Law Schools

By Dan Filler

ADVERTISEMENTS

150 What are the three best law schools you don't hear much about?  It's hard to imagine more reputable institutions that Princeton Law, Dartmouth Law, and Brown Law.  But here's the problem: their reputation far exceeds their quality.  Because they don't exist. Well, they don't exist today - Al reminds us that Princeton Law really did exist from 1847-1854, during the bustling Polk, Taylor, Fillmore, and Pierce administrations.  (Man, those were a hectic eight years!)  But they could exist, if any of these three fine schools decided to commit a few sheckels to the project.  What would they look like?  As I muse about them, I'm trying to imagine their deans.  Princeton would hire away  (or is it right to say, bring back?) Ricky Revesz from NYU.  Dartmouth would spirit Eugene Volokh from UCLA.  And Brown...I'm kinda thinking Kenji Yoshino.

I'd love to hear other folks' visions of what we might call the Imaginary Ivies.
