A federal judge last week certified class-action status for a lawsuit by Kansas meatpacking workers who claim they were denied overtime and other benefits. In the lawsuit, thousands of workers allege that Tyson?s Foods Inc. violated state and federal labor laws by failing to pay them for time spent donning protective equipment. The lawsuit also claims various other wage violations.
