: Houston Personal Injury LawyerIllinois Woman Sues Bus System
By admin
On August 22 Mattle Walker Bennett filed a personal injury suit against the public transit system Madison County Transit in Madison County Circuit Court. The suit alleges that the driver closed the bus door on her as she was exiting the bus at the Granite City Terminal in Madison County, Illinois. As a result the doors closed on her before she was able to exit and she was pinned by the doors. Bennett?s suit alleges that the Madison County Transit was negligent by failing to provide a safe means of exiting the bus. The suit further alleges that the system failed to exercise the highest degree of care, consistent with the mode of conveyance used in the practical operation of its business. The accident with the doors caused her injuries to her shoulder, left hand, neck and chest. She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 plus expenses.
