: TinytechIPUS Patent 7425582 - Stable dispersion using surface modified nanoparticles
Dispersants are an ingredient to control phase separation between a a mixed phase dispersion. This patent from 3M teaches using surface-modified organic nanoparticles as an improved dispersant for a dispersion. Claim 1 reads:
1. A stable dispersion comprising:
a continuous phase comprising a continuous liquid phase and a plurality of excipient surface-modified organic nanoparticles; and
a dispersed phase comprising one or more medicament particles dispersed in the continuous phase, wherein the dispersion comprises less than 0.001 percent by weight of surfactant, surface-active agents, detergents, and conventional dispersants.
