: IP BlawgComments on the Northern District's Local Patent Rules?
By Farella Braun + Martel LLP
Happy Thanksgiving to our readers, and here's a post-holiday treat for aficionados of patent litigation procedures. Yesterday, the Patent Local Rules Advisory Subcommittee to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California put out a call for public comment concerning the Patent Local Rules and any possible amendments to those rules. It's been nearly six years since the Patent Local Rules went into effect, and the Subcommittee is considering what, if any, amendments to those rules should be recommended.
Some jurisdictions have adopted variations of the Northern District's patent rules with varying degrees of success. What changes would you like to see made to the rules? Time's a wastin', as the Subcommittee is asking that comments be emailed to patentlocalrulescommittee@gmail.com, by December 15, 2006.
