Jack Alderman Executed in Georgia - Texas to Execute Tonight

By standdown

ADVERTISEMENTS
"Alderman's death by lethal injection took 14 minutes," is the Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.  Earlier in the day, the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles rejected his clemency petition.  It was the 21st execution in America in 2008; the 1,120th in the nation since executions resumed in 1977. William Murray is scheduled to be executed in Texas tonight.  It would be the ninth execution in Texas this year.  Ten more executions are scheduled in Huntsville in 2008, according to TDCJ.  An AP report, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, is here.
