Venable adds criminal defense partner to L.A. office

By Jason Siegel

ADVERTISEMENTS

Philipkcohen Philip Kent Cohen has joined the Los Angeles office of Venable LLP as a partner, expanding the firm's white collar defense presence in Southern California.

After practicing solo from 1994 to 2003, Cohen co-founded Murphy Rosen & Cohen, where he was the firm?s primary trial attorney and handled all of its criminal defense work.  Earlier this year, he stepped down as partner and became Of Counsel prior to joining Venable.

Cohen is the second notable litigator to join the firm's L.A. office in recent months, following the arrival this past spring of former federal prosecutor David Kettel, who spent six years prosecuting cases with the U.S. Attorney?s office in Los Angeles.
