Molecular Imprints, Inc. is seeking a patent agent/counsel to assist company in protecting Intellectual Property by drafting and prosecuting patent applications.

Responsibilities:
? Assist the company with creating IP assets and protection of inventions and related intellectual property matters.
? Work with company engineers and scientists to identify patentable intellectual property assets.
? Obtain disclosures of inventions for preparation of patent applications, and assisting with the prosecuting patent applications.
? Oversee prosecution of foreign cases corresponding to U.S. cases.
? The vast majority of the IP responsibilities are patent-related primarily in the area of patent preparation and prosecution.  In addition there may be work on opinions and assessments.
? May assist in the management of relevant internal patent-related database(s), such as timekeeping, docketing and invention management systems.
? Responsible for reporting on the status of multiple dynamically-changing patent dockets.
? Initiate and interpret patentability searches.

Qualifications:
? Education: Bachelor?s Degree in technical field required; master?s degree/law degree preferred. Patent Agent preferred.
? Experience: 2-5 years experience as patent agent or patent attorney
? Physical Demands/Work Environment: Position requires sitting for extended periods of time, repetitive motion while entering data in to a computer terminal, operating standard office equipment, and use of a telephone. Must be able to see and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids. Employee will be able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone. Position requires effective communication skills, verbal and written form. Mental alertness is a must. The position may require standing, walking, bending over, reaching overhead, grasping, pushing, pulling and moving, lifting and/or carrying up to 25 pounds without assistant. Lifting more than 25 lbs will require additional help. This is a standard office environment.
