The Home Depot recalls candle holders after report of a fire

Sunlight passing through glass portion of recalled candle holders can cause fire

On May 20, 2008, The Home Depot recalled about 14,000 candle holders after receiving a consumer report of a fire. The recalled candle holders are partly made of glass, and sunlight passing through the glass portion of the candle holders can cause nearby flammable materials to ignite, posing a fire hazard.

Sun-shaped candle holders are included in the recall, which are made of glass and metal and sold in red, green, blue, and yellow. The words ?15.75? Candle Holder? are printed on the recalled product?s hang tag.

The Home Depot stores sold the recalled candle holders in the southern and western regions of the United States from January 2008 through March 2008 for about $10.

Consumers who own a recalled Home Depot candle holder should immediately stop using it and return it to The Home Depot for a refund. For more information, customers may contact the company at 866-403-5504, or visit the company?s website.
