On April 29, 2008, DEWALT Industrial Tool Co. recalled about 13,000 DEWALT DW744 Jobsite Table Saws because they pose a laceration hazard to consumers. A pivot bracket on the recalled saw can separate, misaligning the blade and causing a kickback.
DEWALT received one report of the table saw’s blade misaligning, though no consumer injuries were reported.
Recalled DEWALT jobsite table saws are model number ?DW744?, and the model number is found on the name plate on the front of the saw. Saws included in the recall are yellow and black and 10 inches, and have date codes of ?200715? through ?100740?. Date codes are located on the saw’s front name plate.
Major home centers and hardware stores sold the recalled DEWALT saws from April 2007 through January 2008 for about $500. Consumers who own a recalled jobsite table saw should immediately stop using it and contact DEWALT at 1-888-742-9178 for a replacement.
