Question from a non-lawyer here. Can anyone tell me how the fen-phen settlement case ended up with Judge Bamberger in Boone County? As I understand it, none of the three defendant lawyers were from that part of the state, nor were the majority of the plaintiffs. Chesley, however, is located in Cincinnati, so he would be close to Bamberger. Is there any way that the case could have been steered toward Bamberger's court or was it a random assignment? Thanks for any info.
