Tom Petty Was Right

ADVERTISEMENTS
Steps of the test of Minimum Competence, in ascending order of difficulty (that means easiest first, nimrod):
1) Taking the damn thing. Ripping off the band-aid. Getting it over with, already.
2) Studying. Studying and panicking and studying and worrying that you haven't been studying enough and studying some more.
3) Sitting on your hands for four fucking months for the results. The waiting is the hardest part.

I know you want to know all the gory details. It's all anybody can ask me. Here's how the conversation usually goes:

You: "How did you do?"
Me: "Ask me on November 17, at 6 PM. Not that I'm counting." Har.
You: "But how do you feel it went?"
Me: "It's done. I took it."
You: "No, seriously, it's me here. You can tell me."
Me: "Seriously? I showed up all three days. Multiple Choice Wednesday was particularly brutalizing. It's done. I took it."
You: "But we know you passed."

At this point in the conversation, Iason whips out his asp and mercilessly beats his loved one about the head and neck. Or collapses in tears. It depends on whether he brought his asp with him on that particular day.

So, please, for the love of all that is holy, allow me to pass this four miserable months in the blissful numbness I incessantly seek. I purchased a DSL for assistance in this task. It helps, but sometimes I can't but think that Brain Age might have helped on the exam. Dr. Kawashima, where were you when I needed you most?

I know I didn't blog. Get over it. Excuses:

1) Vacation means vacation from blogging; finishing the bar means vacation. Even if I am just on the couch in my Pee Jays all day.
2) I didn't have anything to procrastinate from doing.
3) I didn't have anything to report. "Spent today on the couch in my Pee Jays. Played Brain Age. Lamented." Even I have standards.

Except now I do have something to report. We're moving to San Diego! In a week! We just found a place, and it's all very exciting. I promise to post pics once we're there. Maybe. So long as you refrain from asking stupid questions about the Bar.
