: Legal Pad | LAPublic Intergrity Unit won't retry the first public official it's taken to court

All the charges were dismissed for the first public official to be taken to court by the San Diego D.A.'s Public Integrity Unit.
The D.A.'s Office isn't going to retry Chula Vista councilman Steve Castaneda on perjury charges, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Last month, Castaneda was acquitted on six counts of perjury and deadlocked on four others, leading to a mistrial.
