Summer Access to Lexis and Westlaw

By Nichelle

ADVERTISEMENTS
Lexis Summer Use Policy
LexisNexis is pleased to offer you the opportunity to extend your full access privileges during the summer through August 1, 2008. In order to do so you will need to register for summer full access through the Summer Access Registration at www.lexisnexis.com/lawschool. The link is embedded in the revolving banner.
You must certify your legitimate use over the summer to be granted full access. Select a reason from the drop down menu:

* Summer School
* School-Related Research Assignment
* Moot Court Research
* Law Review or Journal Research
* Working as a Professor's Research Assistant
* Non-Profit Externship
* Unpaid Internship/Externship

If you do not register, your LexisNexis law school ID will be limited to only career materials as of June 1, 2008.

*Graduating students must register for summer access to extend their IDs to August 1, 2008. Please e-mail Stephanie O'Keefe at stephanie.okeefe@lexisnexis.com if you have any questions.

Westlaw Summer Access Information

Westlaw student passwords will hibernate during the summer unless you extend your password by clicking on the banner that says "Does your summer forecast call for Westlaw?", located on the lawschool.westlaw.com homepage after you sign in. After you click on the banner, you must select an exception for summer usage, including: summer classes, journal work, moot court, research for a professor, or work for a pro-bono non-profit organization. Any other work you may be doing during the summer, including law firms, courts and government organizations, must be done with the password issued by your employer. Please e-mail greg.halbrook@thomson.com with any questions.

Please contact librarian Nichelle Perry (njperry@email.unc.edu) if you have questions or need assistance registering.
