: Eastern District of Texas Federal Court PracticePatent verdict for plaintiff in Tyler
By Michael C. Smith
I am happy to congratulate my cocounsel George Chandler of Lufkin and the trial team from Cooley LLP on obtaining a favorable jury verdict in Judge Leonard Davis' court in Tyler this afternoon representing plaintiff Acqis against IBM.
The jury found all asserted claims from the three patents infringed, none of the asserted claims invalid under anticipation or obviousness, and past damages in the amount of a little over $9 million.
The cast of people to congratulate from Cooley is a large one, but special mention goes out to Tom Friel, Wayne Stacy (who did a whale of a job on closing, along with George Chandler), Jim Brogan, Orion Armon, Sarah Guske, and paralegal Jennifer Ingraham-Martinez.
