So, too much time has passed since my last post. I am just swamped. Working harder than I ever have. The number of logistics is almost overwhelming....moving myself North. The goal of being temporarily homeless and unemployed takes an enormous amount of time and money. The family has been helping out in the wood shop and the house is slowly being built. We are still milling trees and gathering reclaimed wood wherever and whenever we can. I have also gathered an enormous amount of tools, materials and appliances for Alaska. I cannot believe that it is only about 7 months away! Soon, I will be an Alaskan again! I still have an enormous number of things to do, like selling the house, arranging the ferry, getting a shipping container and then all my timber north and a million other details.
I really don't have my life figured out. What will I do when I get to Alaska? How much money will I have? What can I do? What will I do for work? Can I build my house right away? Will I need to borrow money? Nevertheless, it is a grand adventure. Next May I am leaving California. Headed to Alaska in a 1989 RV. Some tools. Some materials. 4 dogs, 3 kids. No house. No job. I have to create everything from a piece of land in Alaska. Full post as published by A Public Defender's Life in Alaska on September 19, 2017 (boomark / email).
