By Chuck Newton
We now mainly remember Louisiana from Hurricane Katrina, but it is a state rich in history and culture. It also has a
fair number of law schools for its size, and all of them are in either the state capital of Baton Rouge or New Orleans, both towns are not far from each other, and both are located in the Southern part of the state. Although Louisiana is the only state in the country that follows the Napoleonic Code, the law schools still train you for practice outside of the State. The law schools are:
- Loyola University College of Law, New Orleans

202 Law Center, Baton Rouge 70803-1000, Phone: (225) 578-8646 - Southern University Law Center, Baton Rouge
Roosevelt Steptoe Avenue, Baton Rouge 70813, Phone: (225) 771-2552 - Tulane University Law School, New Orleans
