From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "Streets reopen as water levels subside"--
Heavy rain and wind brought from Hurricane Ike this morning flooded roads, forced evacuations and forced rescues throughout the St. Louis region.
By late afternoon, roads have reopened and water levels have subsided, but some area residents are still without power.
Sunday?s weather caused at least one death. Ladue resident Joan Dankner, 49, was pronounced dead at St. John?s Hospital after a tree limb struck by lightning fell on her this morning, said Ladue Capt. Rich Wooten. She was outside her house on the 9600 block of Ladue Road when the limb fell.
