Lack of Snow Thrower Recall Notice

In October 2006, a recall was issued for MTD snow throwers. However, some consumers have not received notice and are unaware of the recall. The affected product is the Two Stage Compact Snow Thrower, manufactured by MTD Products, Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio. The machines were sold under the brand names of Craftsman, Troy-built and Yard. The danger of the MTD snow throwers is that inflating the tires can cause the tire to explode with strong force, causing serious injuries, including broken bones and facial injuries. Consumers should check the information on their snow thrower to determine whether it is an MTD snow thrower that is affected by the recall.
