Fire hazard prompts QVC recall of SoleusAir Space Heaters
Company received nine reports of flames, 70 reports of overheating
On May 1, 2008, QVC recalled about 28,000 SoleusAir Space Heaters because they pose a fire hazard. The company received nine reports of flames from the heaters and 70 reports of smoking, overheating, sparkling, melting and/or emitting burning odors.
The recalled QVC heaters are 1,500 watts and are black or charcoal-colored with three heat settings. The words ?SoleusAir 360 Micathermic Heater? are printed on a label on the front of the recalled heaters.
QVC’s television programs and website, as well as QVC’s studio, employee and retail stores from December 2007 through March 2008 for between $65 and $80.
Consumers who own a recalled QVC SoleusAir Space Heater should immediately stop using it and unplug it. If purchased from a QVC store, the recalled space heater should be returned to any QVC store for a refund.
