Oxford ? Recently went back to Oxford. Thought I?d do an overview for anyone planning to go down there to see some football! On or near Square
City Grocery- Unarguable the finest and most consistent place in Oxford. Their shrimp and grits are noted but for first class entrees there is no place better.
Old Venice- Very good consistent pizza with a great crust.
Doe?s Eat Place- Good solid steaks, great lunch special with solid fries.
208- A runner up to city grocery a bit more contemporary.
Proud Larry?s ? Great Fries and Burgers.
L & M?s Kitchen and Salumaria- A contemporary Italian. Very Expensive for what you get and the quality.
Pearl Street Pasta- Very traditional pasta place. I think it?s a good value with good food.
Ajax- Great for Country Vegetables. Good crawfish Etoufee. Horrible gravy and fries featured on Rachel Ray.
Notable Off Squares.
Beacon ? On Lamar- A great place for breakfast.
Old Taylor Grocery ? A few miles from Oxford is one of the best places around known for Catfish, steaks, and basically everything being first rate.
