That's NORTH Dakota

Congratulations to Chief Justice VandeWalle of North Dakota, who is the recipient of the American Inns of Courts 2008 Professionalism Award for the Eighth Circuit.

The award honors "a senior practicing judge or lawyer whose life and practice display sterling character and unquestioned integrity, coupled with ongoing dedication to the highest standards of the legal profession."

We have had the pleasure of working with the Chief in the past and we whole-heartedly agree. He is actively engaged in the Conference of Chief Justices, of which he is past president; served as past chair of the Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the ABA; and past chair of the NCSC and its Research Advisory Council. He wants the best for North Dakota courts, and is always seeking out new ideas and better methods.
