Judicial Appointments Considered in Texas

    A Texas lawmaker has introduced legislation to transform the way judges are selected from elections to  appointments, an article in The Dallas Morning News reports. A proposal by Senator Robert Duncan would allow the governor to appoint justices based on Senate approval and would require justices to undergo retention elections at the end of their term. [...]
