On December 31, 2007 Aviva Life Insurance Company of New York, the New York structured annuity issuing company for Aviva USA was renamed Aviva Life and Annuity Company of New York. The name change follows a merger with another Aviva USA entity, Bankers Life Insurance Company of New York. The Home Office of the new entity is Woodbury, NY. The ratings of the new entity are AM Best A+10 (Superior) and Fitch AA-.
It was announced that Aviva Life Insurance Company the non-New York structured annuity issuing company for Aviva USA will be renamed Aviva Life and Annuity Company effective on or about July 1, 2008
