Courtesy of the GPO, some electronic copies of Federal documents for the first time are being authenticated using digital signatures. These digital signatures validate that the document has not been tampered with and appear on the top of PDF versions of the document. The Federal Budget for FY 2008 was authenticated for the first time using this technology.
