Banksy and Facebook

By admin

ADVERTISEMENTS

I love the street artist Banksy. I have his books and really loved his Oscar nominated film: Exit Through the Gift Shop. I wonder if he’ll show up to accept his Oscar if he wins?

Anyway, here’s his latest take on Facebook and the power of internet revolutions.

Banksy?s Creative Interpretation Of The Facebook Revolutions

With recent events, we cannot doubt the power of social media (for good an evil) to change the world. It is wonderful to see libraries harnessing social media like Facebook and Twitter to make our case too. How do we find a street artist for libraries? I know a few but their identities are secret.

You can even do Grafitti Tag lite by tagging with chalk all over campus or town. You can use sidewalk chalk which is cheap by the bucket at Toys R Us or powdered chalk tha works well with stencils. Get the word out.

Libraries change lives and libraries change the world. When the Egyptian students formed a human chain around the Library at Alexandrina and Egyptian museums, you just don’t get a much more perfect picture that they truly value libraries and culture at a very deep level. When UK citizens took action and organized themselves for libraries using social media on Feb. 5th as part of the SaveLibraries movement, you see that our users value libraries. We must remember that libraries are valued and that we can mine that passion from our communities when threatened.
