Yesterday Sony Computer Entertainment America claimed in court documents that PS3 jailbreaker George "Geohot" Hotz had fled the country to balmy South America to avoid the court's jurisdiction and that he had altered the hard drives the court ordered him to turn over to a third-party for inspection.
Today both Hotz's attorney and Hotz himself issued statements related to Sony's claims. As expected, they are calling bullsh*t. Stewart Kellar, one of Hotz' lawyers, rejected both SCEA claims. He spoke at length with Ars Technica.
Kellar told Ars Technica that it is "impossible to take a vacation from a lawsuit," and while Hotz is in South America visiting a friend (a trip Kellar and Hotz say was planned long before the lawsuit with SCEA was ever filed) he remains in constant contact with his legal team. Read More
