* McCain or Obama? Lawyers have already voted with their wallets, contributing more campaign funds to this election than any other industry. According to OpenSecrets.org, lawyers and law firms have given $84.9 million overall, dwarfing that of the securities industry, which is second with contributions of $42.8 million. Of that, a whopping 78 per cent has gone to Democrats: $36.8 million to Obama, $15.7 million to Hillary Clinton and $7.75 to John Edwards. By contrast, John McCain has received only $9.7 million from backers in legal services. Several law firms are among Obama$?s biggest contributors, led by Sidley Austin ($492,445), Skadden ($473,424) and WilmerHale ($466,679).$
