Lawyer of the week: Jacqui Hayat

Jacqui Hayat, a partner at Hodge Jones and Allen, acted for Ryan St George, in a £4.7 million settlement for brain damage that he suffered as a result of negligence by HM Prison Brixton in November 1997. It is believed to be the highest amount of compensation paid by the Home Office, and the first to use periodical payments for payment of rent.
