Police: Alleged drunk solicitor fled from officers - Atlanta Journal Constitution

A DeKalb County solicitor fled from officers and was so intoxicated that he couldn?t answer questions or maintain his balance...  Wystan Getz, an assistant solicitor, remains on unpaid administrative leave while the solicitor-general conducts an internal investigation. Getz is charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding, operating an unsafe vehicle and reckless driving. A DeKalb Police report shows an officer attempted to stop Getz?s 2011 Volvo SUV around 3:30 a.m. Saturday after witnessing him driving on Moreland Avenue with two flat tires. Getz fled from the officer and only stopped after two Atlanta Police cruisers joined the chase, according to the report.  As Getz got out of his SUV, the vehicle rolled backward almost striking a police cruiser.

Needless to say, Mr. Getz, whose job includes prosecuting DUIs, needs to be fired, get a significant stint in jail, and then be placed into long term alcohol rehab.
