: Legal Pad | LAChristensen taps Morrison & Foerster as replacement appeals counsel
By Richard Binder
Terry Christensen, the lawyer who was convicted last year on charges related to wiretapping his opponent in a high-profile child support case, has replaced the attorneys handling his appeal.
This month, two lawyers representing Kerkorian in civil litigation associated with the wiretapping case, Dan Marmalefsky and Seth M. Hufstedler, both of Morrison & Foerster, replaced Terree Bowers, a partner in the Los Angeles office of Howrey, as Christensen's counsel, according to documents filed in his appeal.
Christensen, the former managing partner of what is now Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs & Shapiro, was sentenced last fall to three years in federal prison. A federal jury convicted him on charges that he hired private investigator Anthony Pellicano to wiretap the ex-wife of his client, billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, in a child support case.
Christensen has appealed the verdict to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
