: Legal Blog WatchBrooklyn ADA 'Apprentice' Quits Before She Can Be 'Fired'

ADVERTISEMENTS
All over the country this morning, lawyers who thought they could successfully handle reality TV stardom without sacrificing their, well, reality, are weeping. According to the ABA Journal, "Apprentice" contestant Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy, or, as described in that publication's headline, the "scary yelling lawyer," has resigned from her position as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn. The New York Law Journal has a more detailed story, including quotes from a spokesperson indicating that Charles Hynes, the DA, was a little bit peeved that Saeidi-Azcuy asked for two months of leave to be on TV. Saeidi-Azcuy says that she "really had no choice" because her new-found celebrity made it "impossible to be in a courtroom." Somebody loves herself! I don't watch the show. And have no intention of doing so. Luckily, Above the Law's Marin (enough of a celebrity herself that she's known by her first name only) live-blogged the premiere a couple of weeks ago. Marin didn't seem too impressed with Mahsa. She predicted that Mahsa "has a future in speeding ticket representation." Which sounds somewhat less painful than having to look at that monstrosity on Trump's head in person on a regular basis without breaking out in laughter.Full post as published by Legal Blog Watch on October 01, 2010 (boomark / email).
