Things I Learned Yesterday

By "Daisy Duke"

ADVERTISEMENTS
If during the course of a conversation Best Buy informs you that if you do not solve the dispute regarding your "broken" (according to them) hard drive in the time frame they have provided (1 week) they will in fact give it back to Sony with all of your personal information on it, and you subsequently respond that would be a poor corporate choice by Best Buy thus lining them up for a lawsuit based on conversion of property, Best Buy will, in fact, hang up on you.

Oh the loathing.

Best Buy, consider yourself on notice. I'm already drafting the complaint regarding your deceptive trade practices and your ever-escalating price to capture my information on my old hard drive, a price that changes based on who/which location I am speaking with and not, curiously, on the amount of information on my hard drive or the difficulty in removing it. Although I would assume the difficulty level would be low because we all know my hard drive really isn't broken don't we? If it was actually broken you wouldn't be so reluctant to share with me the proof regarding said broken-ness. Proof you tell me exists but isn't "accessible" to whomever I am speaking with. And no, you can't tell me who I should speak with. That would be...difficult.

I also learned, incidentally, that Best Buy employees are unable to call you back at the appropriate number you leave for them and, because they are so stupid, they will call you back at the wrong number repeatedly, leaving voice mails mere minutes apart, clearly confused about who they are calling.

And finally I learned one should wear bug spray on a 3 hour tour of Lake Michigan. Consider yourself sufficiently warned.
