You like like that, republicans? You like how that tastes? Does it taste like sweet, sweet, glorious defeat? Hmm? Two words, bitches: subpoena. power. You best figure out quick how to live in a government where you actually have to be accountable for the shit you do. Well, at least a little accountable. At least as accountable as the weak-spined-thin-skinned Dems are willing to make you be. Their blood is in the water, Dems! Don't be scared to . . . drink it? (Sorry, that metaphor sorta fell apart there, huh?)

In other news, last week we went and saw Eddie Izzard in L.A. I'd never actually seen any sort of stand-up live before, and we just had to go. It had all the hallmarks of any good Eddie Izzard show: blasphemy, history (though M complained not enough), and a Darth Vader joke or two. Oh, and hilarity. Much hilarity. He did this thing about alternate Star Trek phaser settings that made it very difficult for me to breathe. When the show was over my face hurt, and my abdomen was sore the next day. (You know, from all the laughing.)

In other, other news, I went as a member of the Homestarmy for Halloween this year (as pictured). We went to a party, and I was excited to revel in my esotericness, and be the only one who understood my costume. I underestimated the geekyness of M's fellow grad students, though, and got about a half-dozen semi-correct recognitions as Homestar, and a couple of dead-on Homestarmies. For everybody else, wearing orange Tupperware on my head was enough of a costume to not ask too many questions, I guess. Sadly, M refused to go as Private Bennedetto, besides, where would we have gotten a giant popcorn popper costume? We all learned that my Homestar impression sucks ass, but that didn't stop me from saying, "Do you has what it takes?" and "Don't you die on me Bennedetto!" all night long. Good times.

*The "u" in "Pubs" is meant to be pronounced as in "tube," not, as you might suspect, as in "tub."
