Another Way to Procrastinate

I'm always looking for excuses to procrastinate or avoid having to think about finals and those 3 nasty little papers waiting to be written. Just when I was getting bored with just about everything I could find on my usual internet haunts (Facebook, CNN, Gap, iTunes, and Netflix), I come across this great find on Google:

LIFE photo archive hosted by Google.

Google has taken hundreds of images from the iconic LIFE magazine and has put them up, categorized by decades, places, people, events, etc. Of course, the database is also totally searchable (because it's Google- duh). I'm totally fascinated by all of these photos. I'm a total history geek and I think it's so cool the Google and LIFE have partnered to bring these great bits of American history to the plugged in techno children of the 21st century.

Here's a few of my favorite images that I've found today:

People and horse-drawn carriages on Wall St., where American flags are flying from several bldgs

Ballerinas standing on window sill in rehearsal room at George Balanchine's School of American Ballet.

And last but not least, a true classic LIFE photo:
