: TJ's Double PlayLile Finals
The 2008 Lile Moot Court competition finished up this afternoon, with Mike Hollander and Becky Mroz taking first place, $2,700 grand each and the coolest part: getting their names inscribed on the Moot Court wall. They're well on their way to becoming senators from Massachusetts. Mroz also earned best oralist for the finals. Major congratulations to them both.
The final oral arguments were lively, with some feisty judges. The problem was Con Law and accessible for the lay listener too, so we didn't notice anyone falling asleep. Before the judges announced the winners the folks we were sitting with were all pretty divided on who had done the best job. The two teams were evenly matched. It probably would have been easier to decide the actual case rather than pick the stronger team.
The Moot Court board also named the eight teams from the class of 2009 who advanced to the quarterfinals. Congrats to all of you, you get to write another brief!
