FINALS BLUES

Not anyone's favorite time of the school term, the finals period brings with it a special kind of brain freeze and emotional death that one must experience to really appreciate.  Guys no longer shave...tons of stubble and bad grooming choices abound.  Less coordinated outfits, more sweat clothes.  Lots and lots and lots of coffee cups in the trash.  Faces frozen in concentration...and panic.

And then there are the thieves.  Unscrupulous people target just this time of year to roam the library because they know you are distracted, focused on finals, and not thinking too clearly about much else. Heck, you are barely existing.  Just today a student had her wallet stolen out of her purse.  She had just left the study carrel for a few minutes to go to the restroom.  This is a horrible experience.  It's the worst time in terms of being able to handle it emotionally.  So be especially cautious about your belongings, OK?

This is the last week of the semester.  Let's make it a good one.  Good luck, everybody!
