ADVERTISEMENTS
Awhile ago we had a book club here at Legally Blonde Ambition. It was fun. We read neat books! Everyone (seemed) to enjoy it. And then, like many good intentions, it fell by the wayside. I'd love to get it going again but I realize that perhaps I should start slowly. Pique your interest. See where the wind takes us. (Or something.) (Or perhaps I'm still hopped up on all the meds I'm taking to counter-act the swine flu. I wish I was joking. I am not.) I recently realized I had some fabulous Borders coupons in my possession so I fired off some emails to some of my favorite literary-oriented pals. My latest read that I'm (slowly) enjoying is The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. The only reason it has gone slowly has been my time to devote to it, every time I pick it up I find myself more immersed than the last.
The latest recommendations to come my way:
- The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer & Annie Barrows
- The Help by Kathryn Sockett
-Admission by Jean Hanff Korelitz
- Stone's Fall by Iain Pears
How about you....have you read anything fabulous lately?
(Side Note: I read The Story of Edgar Sawtelle and loathed it. Despised. Stopped half way through and said, thanks but no thanks. Anyone else? Anyone?)
