Last Law School Class

ADVERTISEMENTS
Going to my last law school class today wasn?t a terribly emotional affair. As has been well documented, I?ve never been a big fan of classroom attendance in law school. But I felt a hint of nostalgia as I walked out of my last class, imagining my life as a movie with a collage of classroom related images scrolling across the screen with an appropriate riff blaring. I suppose that having school related obligations may be a little bit like when you were living at home and you had a curfew. You resented it at the time, but you kind of missed having someone worry about you. I guess. I?m actually really pumped to be done with classes. The best parts about my law school experience (trial team, KGACLC, moot court competitions, free pizza) really had nothing to do with class. And really, school isn?t done until I get my diploma (apparently takes a whole year to send the thing). I?m anxious to finish my last two finals (I turned in my tree killing jury law final today and now have Wills & Trusts and my Remedies finals to look forward to in the next two weeks), graduate, study for the bar in earnest, maybe get a part time job for a couple of months (I don?t start officer training until October), and finally begin an exciting and fulfilling career serving my country. In the mean time, I?ll enjoy, as much as possible, this slow escape from my adolescent womb. Back to the books!
