I've Been Hanging Around

ADVERTISEMENTS
I'm not sure if anyone is still out there, and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if everyone has deserted my blog, I did after all pretty much disappear for a solid 2 months preceded by an entire spring of sporadic at best posting. I really don't have much of an excuse, but I do feel bad, after all I don't really like when blogs I regularly read suddenly come to a halt without explanation, a sentiment I realize is shared by others.

To give you a short run down, the school year ended rather uneventfully, grades came in at their usual turtle like pace, and unlike the end of 1L I didn't really give a crap what my spring semester 2L grades ended up being- ironically they were much better than anything I pulled out first year. I worked at my DA office internship throughout the spring and just continued right on into the summer. I took a fabulous vacation with a friend to Mexico and 2 days after I got back from paradise I was told I was being moved to intern in county court (I had been in appeals the entire spring) and it has been nothing but non-stop work and stress ever since. I really should be grateful that I'm getting to do the work that new DAs get to do upon graduation by interning in a court division, but I was honestly pretty comfortable in the much lower stress, more flexible hours of the appeals division. *sigh*

One of my reasons for lack of blogging is that school life was the same monotonous routine that somehow stopped providing inspiration for semi-entertaining things to blog about and work is a pretty off limit topic of discussion in blogging world. Seems as if I'm not the only one with tied hands with regards to the "work" category of blogging items. Maybe next summer when I'm studying for the dreaded bar exam I'll be more motivated to blog throughout the summer since I'll be looking for ways to procrastinate from the torture of trying to memorize all those bar subjects I should have taken in law school but for whatever reason didn't.

Which brings me to my upcoming FINAL year of law school. I've decided that I do much better, both grade wise, and actual learning wise, in classes that I am interested in, which tend to be practice oriented type classes (like trial practice for example). Thus, I decided that I'm not going to try to cram in Trusts & Estates, Corporations, Agency, Real Estate (which is on my state's bar exam), Family Law, or Secured Transactions into my final year. However, I'm starting to second guess myself. If anyone out there is still reading this and has any idea whether or not classes in any of those subject areas I just mentioned are important either on most bar exams or just in general out in practice please let me know. Seeing as how I've taken very little (i.e. NONE) corporate law type stuff I'm thinking I should just suck it up and take corporations, but international criminal prosecutions sounds SOOOOO much more fun!!!

And with that I'm out. I'll still be hanging around, and I'll try to be better about blogging, but I make no promises :-)
